Play
In 1979 the actress Esme Allen is at the very peak of her career and passionate about the West End stage where she makes a comfortable living. But then her daughter, Amy, comes to visit her, along with her new boyfriend, a brash young gossip-columnist and film critic. As a result of this encounter, there follows a series of events which reach their shattering conclusion sixteen years later.
“An absorbing, funny and touching play” –The Independent
“An enthralling, stimulating and witty drama”
“Above all else, Amy’s View offers the sheer exhilaration of watching a major dramatist writing for the theatre he loves at the very height of his powers.” – Daily Express
